What was once one of the best mods of its day (having won the $1,000,000 Make Something Unreal competition), is now only a few weeks from hitting the shelves as a fully fledged, no-shortcuts-taken awesome game. What is even better, is RO's drive to support and help out the mod community and that is why (thanks to Tripwire Interactive) we now have a handful of Steam Beta access keys to give out. So if you are like me and counting down the days to this games release, stop waiting because you have a chance to get playing right now.
How? Well we just need a few enthusiastic volunteers who want to give this game a good hammering / thrashing. Respond to this news post if interested, and this time 2 days from now - we will pick a few people at random and give them access via their Steam account. It couldn't be easier to jump onto the battlefields during WWII. I hate Red Orchestra, once I played it 90% of all other games were completely ruined! I can no longer play other games because I have tasted Red Orchestra, and once that happens you cannot go back! Anyways I'm a community Level Designer for the Mod, and now Ostfront (payed for it the day it was avaliable) and it would mean the world for me to get a sneak peak at all the static meshes and textures I get to play with in the game. Here's hoping!
...but maybe she'll make an exception this time. I've never won a competition in my life - maybe this is my chance. I've craved for a realistic WWII game for years and now, finally, I've found one. I'm 100% sure that Red Orchestra: Ostfront 41-45 will make a difference in the gaming world of today. I'll buy the game as soon as the boxed set ships to Finland.

Amazing to see how this mod has developed from when it was first released for UT. Each time a new version came out I showed my flatmate and each time his jaw dropped. Think this will definitely happen with this version!!
