Hello everyone we have some important news to share with you. The Truepaint team as decided to switch engines to a more refined, more graphic heavy but still Q3 based engine. We will now be using the Evolution Q3 engine, which is a merge of Quake 3 and xreal with some improvements. We now have the support of the EQ3 engine programmer on our team so expect some serious updates very soon.

Images from the engine.

Thank you all for the support -Truepaint Team

Yeah sure the engine can do all that fancy stuff, but can it make coffee and do the dishes? I think NOT! :P

Looks like a good decision anyways. (having issues running eq3 myself, but I haven't bothered fiddling yet...)

I still don't get the whole quake thing. Most don't have quake 3 and it's not that spectacular graphics wise. Why pick an engine that is not up to par?

'Cause it's free! You won't need Quake 3, any 'mod' using the engine should dwnld in its' entireity as an .exe! I think you'll see some spectacular things from those using the QIII engine very shortly. ;)

I'm quite happy that the engine supports .md5anims so you can actually have good reload animations and such.

Quake 3 is still copyrighted material. None of it is free.

Actually the full source has been publicly released by id, and the rest of our game is under conversion.
