It began 30 days ago with 4,000 mods eligible, and now 40 thousand votes and 2 million mod views later, it is time to commence 16 frantic days of voting as we narrow the TOP 100 down to the TOP 5.

It is an interesting lineup the TOP 100 this year. We've got some of the old with Natural Section, ESF and Sven all making the cut for the 4th year running, and we've got some of the new with World of Padman, Empires, Iron Grip and many more making it. Once again Half-Life mods have stolen the show, HOWEVER, this year the top few mods from over 21 games have all made it and are ALL in with a chance.
Next Step
It is time for YOU to pick your TOP 3 from this list and it isn't going to be easy believe me! It took me over an hour to scour these mods and choose my absolute favorites. And now that the nomination process is complete, it is ultimately your vote NOW which decides the mod that wins the ultimate prize... THE MOD OF THE YEAR. The winner will be joining some elusive company with Garrys Mod, Red Orchestra & Natural Selection (all past winners) becoming hugely successful commercial projects.
Good luck to all those that made the list, and for the mod teams that missed out - keep up the hard work, there is always 2007!
Congrats to all mods that made it :)
Well Done to every team who is even making a mod.
Its a lot of hard work and effort across the teams.
Its a great honor for my own mod to make the top 100 especially with so many other High caliber teams out there.
Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday to all.

@ SmokeyTheBear:
Indeed. This seems very well-organised. Hats off to ModDB. :)
...... now I just wonder how many would vote for "Recall to Hell" in Phase II .... :P
lets vote the empires mod for hl2 all :P
Yay! Get your voting groove on!
No matter what genre, what mod wins the main thing is being involved and carrying your aspirations wishes and dreams through.
It takes a lot of dedication, coffee and lack of sleep to pull a mod off as well as heaps of teamwork.
Good luck to all and whatever mod wins, we are all winners for trying!
Good luck to all the competing teams :) Let the best mod win ;)
Heh. Half-Life will win only as long as we let it.
Rise against Valve's easy-to-use Mod Tools!

Yeah half life 2 mods have kind of disappointed me so far. Cant wait for so many of them though that of course will not fail to impress. Black Mesa, Insurgency, Sven Coop etc. Those are the mods that make hl2 worth every penny.
love the whole award concept, looks very professional.
w00t two mods i help got in, and three for that engine, Renegade. Such an old game has three top 100 entries, quite an effort.
<3
Good luck to all of the top 100 mod teams!
We're getting close.
Black Mesa Source, Svel Co-op and Shockwave for Zero Hour.
I'M STANDING UPWARD AS I TYPE THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111
Go go Iron Grip :P
If BMS doesn't do well and Minerva doesn't win something then I think a large portion of the voters can be declared slightly unright in the head
I can't believe how many entries there are for HL2, amazing.
you did great work with the vote page guys!!! keep up the good work!!!
Isnt this countdown finished wheres the next phase of voting?
I can't see the speacilists there??!! or did i?
